What challenges are you currently facing, and what outcomes are you hoping to achieve?
I’m Jacqueline “Jackie” Horton, a Bronx native with deep roots in Hampton Roads, Virginia. I am a proud HBCU graduate of Norfolk State University, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, graduating cum laude in 2020.
Since 2020, I have remained on the frontlines of the movement for Black lives, leading grassroots efforts and building relationships with families and communities impacted by systemic injustice. My work has included advocacy alongside families connected to cases such as Xzavier Hill, Donovon Lynch, Walter Wallace Jr., Kenneth Sharp, and many others.
Through this work, I have developed a deep understanding of what it takes to organize, mobilize, and sustain movements that demand accountability and real change.
